As many of you already know, I've been on a crazy mission to paint people's twitter profile pics on my iPhone using the Brushes app. The latest iphone finger painting is of the recently traded Shaquille O'Neal. Enjoy!

Cory Commision Pt 1

I always love to see how artists work! I like to watch an empty canvas or a rough sketch become something beautiful.

Recently, my friend Cory Basil commissioned me to paint a caricature for him. His only instructions were to include a raven with attitude. Sweet!!!

Over the next few posts, I will take you through the process and show you how I work.

First, I begin with a thumbnail to get the composition and idea down.



Next, I begin to rough in color to set the overall tone and mood. At this point, very little attention is paid to likeness and it is kept super loose. The key here is color and mood.
